Random Going-Ons in the Z Household

Wow. I just realized that it has been exactly a month since I last posted. Sorry to all five of my faithful readers/friends. Love ya!

God has been blessing the Zs - that is for sure! Starting at home - Jonah is finally potty-trained! I can hardly believe it! He still has accidents aplenty, but he has the general idea now, and buying pull-ups is more of an every-once-in-awhile type of thing rather than a grocery item. He loves his underwear and will proudly show them to anyone who ask how the potty-ing is going. We're so darn excited about his new "big boy" status that we have bought different undies every time we go to Target. Hey, it's less expensive than a pack of pull-ups!

We also shaved Jonah's head. Why did we do it? I still don't really know. Last week it was summer-spring, so it was blazing hot on the playground, and Jonah's thick locks were making him sweat like a little hairy pig. I mentioned to Jason that Jonah needed a haircut, so Jason offered to take him to Great Clips. I was napping when they returned, and was shaken out of my sleep with the sight of my newly shorn child. It's growing on me. Who cares anyway, right?! It will grow back by May.

I am no longer just a pre-school teacher. I am now a free-lance writer/proofreader as well. I have a more profound love of Craigslist now. I put up a little ad offering my services as a proofreader/editor since I am a hopeless grammar nerd who wants to make a few extra bucks to help us get out of debt. I got a phone call two weeks ago from a magazine publisher offering me the oppurtunity to do some freelance work. I finished my first three articles last week! It was thrilling to get back to doing something I really, really love. To get paid for that, even better. I've also got some freelance proofing going on too - God is so good! The coolest thing is that I got the call for the magazine job the night after praying about this w/ my women's prayer group. I don't know why it still amazes me when God answers prayers like this. I know Him better than that. Well, I am grateful for this new adventure, and I am excited to see where it takes us!

Jason has some neat oppurtunities out in front of him too. He is working for Borders, Inc. right now and not loving it. We are praying and searching for a right fit for Jason. He is looking into gettting back into Youth ministry, which I am totally phsyched about! So, throw up a prayer for us if you think about it!

Well, little man is up from his nap, which means I need to go! See ya!
