Finally, it has happened to me . . .

WOW! Me and Cindy Morgan; I am still so excited!

Here is Cindy singing a song off of her new album, Postcards.
I think the curse has been broken, the "Crystal lives in Nashville and never sees any celebrities - ever" curse. I have tried to take the mature route in the past and say that the reason I never see any of Nashville's famous folks is because I am not easily star-struck . . . Which is pretty true, but mostly it's because I just do not pay attention. My mind is always multi-tasking while I am trying to keep my toddler alive, so star sightings just aren't a priority. BUT, I heard on the radio last week that one of the only people I have ever wanted to meet was going to be performing for FREE at, of all places, Oprymills mall. So I dragged the fam out and we got to watch her perform for an hour and then I got to meet her! It was very cool, she was very classy, very sweet, and just as good live as on any of her albums.
I started listening to Cindy's (see we've met, so now she's Cindy, ha!) music when I was in high school. See, I made a decision to follow Christ for real after I first really believed in him when I was 16. My whole life was changing, along with what I listened to. My youth minister's wife, Christy, introduced me to her music; I was instantly hooked. I love to read, so I deeply appreciate a well-written song. There has to be more than a good voice to make me a fan. Cindy Morgan's songs are unbelievably open, vunerable, honest, and beautiful. She's eclectic and daring, she's always changing as an artist, and she's never been the most popular - which to me isn't a bad thing. Her music has been an intragal part of my first decade as a Christian. I could link so many of her songs back to turning points in my growth as a woman and believer. We even had three of her songs in our wedding! If you haven't checked out her music, I highly encourage you to do so.
Like I said, the curse is broken, I have finally met a celebrity in Nashville, although I am quite sure I'll walk right past Keith Urban tomorrow without batting an eye. Oh well.

That is too awesome! I have to say that I'm a little jealous that you met Cindy Morgan. Good for you for getting a picture. I LOVE her music. I saw her in concert once about 10 years ago. She has an awesome voice and great music! I'm glad you finally got to meet her, though. I know that she is one of your favorites!
