Well we partied like it was September 12, 2004....except this party didn't include an epidural! Jonah is ONE! Jason and I are shocked that a year could pass so quickly, but I can't really say that we're sad. I've had a few friends say that every stage in a baby's (and child's) life is precious and needs to be treasured. I'd have to agree. While Jonah turning into a toddler certainly bring new challenges, it's so amazing to see him learning and developing his own unique personality. He's definitely his own little special person!
His birthday party was Sat. evening at his favorite park. The park was basically empty and the weather cool. It was perfect! We had sandwhiches and cokes with the adults while the kids got to swing and play on the playground equipment. Cake time was crazy! Jonah seemed awfully confused that I was allowing him to be messy and wouldn't really touch his cake at first, but then he went to town on that bad boy! He literally covered himself with cake from head to toe; it was funny and totally disgusting!
Our sweet friends got him some clothes and toys - one an especially noisy toy (Ron and Alisha we will get you back when you have children!!!) Jonah was falling asleep by the time we left; poor thing crashed from too much sugar and excitement.
So we made it a whole year with no serious injuries and with our sanity! God is good!

It looks as if Jonah had a great time at his birthday party. I still can't believe he's a year old! I hope year two is a blast, Little Man!
Love you all!
